Dani accepted the request of businessman Henry Sylver to be the new sponsor of the Barretos Cancer Hospital.

The objective of this initiative is to create in Juazeiro a center for treatment and prevention of cancer.

Alves, contra la pobreza extrema

El pasado sábado 29 de septiembre de 2012 se celebró en Nueva York el Global Festival, un concierto contra la pobreza extrema donde se proyectó un video con Thiago y Alves mostrando su compromiso con la causa. La Fundación FC Barcelona, de la mano de la Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ha querido involucrarse en este proyecto que lucha para sensibilizar sobre esta lacra.

New ambassador for the Special Olympics ‘Global Football Program.’

On the 29the of September, the Brazilian footballer, Dani Alves, was named a global ambassador of football for the Special Olympics. The Barcelona FC player signed an agreement with the Special Olympics in the presence of the president and national director of Special Olympics Spain. During the signing he shared some time with football players from this organisation and took advantage of this to inform his followers on Twitter. He said on the famous social network, “Thank you. It’s an honour to be a part of the Special Olympics family.”

The ‘Solidarity Bracelet’:

The ‘Solidarity Bracelet’ is a joint initiative from Global Humanitarian and Dani Alves.
Global Humanitarian presents the Solidarity Bracelet - a collaboration with Barcelona F.C. player, Dani Alves, to improve child health and education en Juazeiro, his home town, by the construction of wells with clean drinking water. The sale of the bracelets will also contribute to improvements in the education of children in the town of his birth.
 The Brazilian footballer, Dani Alves de Silva, grew up in a family of agricultural workers and often helped his father in such work.With the ‘Solidarity Bracelet Project’ Global Humanitarian and Dani Alves intend to improve access to water in the town which has been affected by drought and the over exploitaion of water resources.

Also, I was part of the new video by Ivan Sevillano, better known as Huecco. Along with David Villa and other famous athletes, we contributed to the first 'single' from his new album, "Dame Vida". With this record he aims to unite music, sport and renewable energy - an idea that amazed me when the crew told me about sOccket balls, which have the capacity to generate and store energy which can be used in order to help poor families.
